About the Role
We are seeking detail-oriented Native Language Data Annotators to support audio transcription and quality assurance projects. This role primarily focuses on reviewing and validating audio files, ensuring transcription accuracy, and identifying native-level fluency in spoken language samples.
While the primary focus is audio annotation, experience with multimodal annotation such as text, image, or video labeling is a plus.
This is a fully remote, independent contributor role ideal for candidates who are highly self-motivated and comfortable working with digital annotation tools.
Key Responsibilities
Review and transcribe audio files in your native language with high accuracy
Perform quality assurance on existing transcriptions to ensure linguistic accuracy and completeness
Evaluate speaker fluency and confirm native-level pronunciation, grammar, and usage
Flag inconsistencies, unclear segments, or non-native speech patterns
Maintain productivity and quality targets while working independently
Use client annotation tools, including SageMaker Ground Truth (SMGT), after training
Track progress and manage tasks using spreadsheets and internal systems
Required Qualifications
Native-level fluency in the target language (must specify language when applying)
Strong English proficiency for instructions, communication, and documentation
Proven experience in transcription, translation, annotation, or linguistic QA preferred
Exceptional listening skills and attention to linguistic detail
Ability to identify dialects, accents, and fluency nuances
Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
Strong computer literacy and ability to quickly navigate new software platforms
Proficiency with Excel or Sheets
Reliable laptop and stable internet connection
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with audio annotation projects
Familiarity with SageMaker Ground Truth (SMGT) or similar annotation tools
Experience with multimodal annotation including text, image, or video labeling
Background in linguistics, language studies, translation, or related fields

Salary Range: $41,600 – 49,920 Annually -Factors that may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
