Remote Data Specialist

Pay: $18.00 – $25.00 per hour

This opportunity is for an experienced Data Specialist to support high-volume data operations, maintain data accuracy, and contribute to ongoing process improvements. This role focuses on advanced data management, quality control, troubleshooting, and support for data-related projects, with a strong emphasis on e-commerce data enhancement. Success in this position requires strong analytical skills, careful attention to detail, and effective communication across teams.

What You’ll Do

  • Process high-volume daily data tasks accurately and efficiently while following clear instructions and established workflows.
  • Enter, manage, and organize detailed product information, including pricing, descriptions, images, and specifications, to maintain consistency across systems.
  • Compile, sort, and verify data using both basic and advanced checks to identify and correct discrepancies.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve data inconsistencies using advanced Excel techniques and other data tools.
  • Participate in regular data audits, including file checks and pricing reviews, and apply corrective actions when needed.
  • Analyze data sets to identify trends, possible errors, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Oversee image collection, organization, and maintenance according to established guidelines.
  • Perform advanced updates and mapping for filters such as Year, Make, and Model.
  • Follow standard operating procedures for all assigned tasks and help document processes when needed.
  • Communicate clearly with team members regarding task status, questions, challenges, and findings.
  • Work closely with internal teams and cross-functional departments to resolve data-related issues and support projects.
  • Identify inefficiencies in current processes, suggest practical solutions, and assist with testing and implementing improvements.
  • Take part in team meetings, working sessions, 1-on-1s, and training activities.
  • Support data-related projects and e-commerce data cleanup initiatives under team guidance.
  • Assist with training or mentoring junior team members on selected tasks and workflows when needed.
  • Contribute to e-commerce data optimization efforts, including titles, attributes, and category updates.
  • Handle assigned data cleanup tasks with accuracy and consistency.
  • Follow all data confidentiality and security policies in daily work.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus.
  • 1 to 4+ years of experience in data entry, data management, office administration, or a related field.
  • Strong accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail, especially when handling repetitive tasks.
  • Proficiency with basic computer skills, including Windows or Mac OS navigation and file management.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Comfort with Excel functions such as sorting, filtering, data entry, and spreadsheet organization.
  • Advanced Excel skills such as complex formulas, VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, and pivot tables are strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SQL for data queries is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience with ticketing systems such as Zendesk is preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems is preferred.
  • Interest in or familiarity with automotive aftermarket parts or e-commerce data is highly preferred.
  • Willingness to learn new tools, systems, and procedures with a proactive attitude.
  • Understanding of data privacy and confidentiality standards.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical or mental tasks.
  • Ability to work with a high level of accuracy while meeting strict deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English, both spoken and written.
  • Ability to work indoors in a structured remote environment.
  • Ability to help coordinate work activities and take responsibility for assigned outcomes.
